Say It!
Song of Songs 1:8 LB“If you don’t know, O most beautiful woman in all the world, follow the trail of my flock to the shepherds’ tents, and there feed your sheep and their lambs. Song of Songs 1:9 LB What a lovely filly you are, my love! Song of Songs 1:10 LB How lovely your cheeks are, with your hair falling down upon them! How stately your neck with that long string of jewels. Song of Songs 1:11 LB We shall make you gold earrings and silver beads.”
Notice the above verses in the Living Bible, a few observations for you as a reader. First notice that the man is talking to the woman! Throughout Song of Solomon both male and female exchange verbal affirmations of their feelings for each other. I love how the male is leading the expression here! Men, we MUST verbalize to our wife how we feel and what we think! Of course wisdom would add here, a wise man would talk about inner beauty as well as outer. Ok gents.. you have a mouth, you can talk, you do talk, sooooo lets talk the right stuff that will change your relationships! Secondly, notice the attention to details, in his expression to her he focuses on the details about her not just the generalities! Avoid things like ” your pretty” lots of things can be pretty HA! Be specific to her about something special about her! Third, you do not read this in the story, yet you know it happens, his expression to her of how he feels impacts her! This is a CORE conviction of mine, people DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU DO NOT TELL THEM! Never assume that your feelings for another are felt by that person. This can range from affirmation of love, gratitude, appreciation, compliments and so on. To assume they know is to risky! Say it! Say it! Say it!

Amen Brother Marty, a husband’s destiny lies in his mouth. Our mouth can be deadly and vile to our relationship with our spouses. One compliment a day will keep the fire burning. keep on say’in it. You and Becky are an inspiring couple.
