Fireproof – A Sappy Souls Review!
My wife and I watched the movie Fireproof last night. My tendency would be to rubber stamp it and tell you how great it was. However I know that honesty over time builds credibility…. so here we go.
Acting was not all that good, I am not an actor nor the son of an actor but for me it was a bit like a church play
Content intense, they hit the ground running! It became apparent early that there were some marital issues on the table!
I thought they portrayed some key people very well; ie the hyena Dr. waiting to pick up the damsel in marital distress. People like this prey on people in need for their own selfish gain. HINT – never be drawn to anyone out of loneliness! If you are its probably not a good thing! Then you have the pack of wolves friends who encourage the negative emotions and feelings about the marriage. A real friend gives balanced input into a marriage and does not just take up the side of “their friend” Then of course the main actor and 80s heart throb ( not for me
) Mr Cameron himself. Did a good Job Curt, proud of you! It was cool to see how he expected his efforts to turn his spouse rather than turn himself. Most people expect that what they do will draw their spouse to them, instead of drawing them to their spouse! The idea of love it to love someone with all of you – heart, mind, soul!
All in all, a great movie! Suggest you watch it soon. I cried.. not unusual for me on these kind of flicks! I am an absolute emotional sap when it comes to love and romance. I love my wife! I have a tender heart toward marriage and the covenant relationship of a marriage. I am always moved by people expressing how they feel about another and the risk of being vulnerable to express it! The pic below it the One and Only in my life! Working on nearly 19 years of her being the center of my life!
